This year’s football team, I can put in that category, that this was a front-running team,” Brown said. “That’s something we always talked about in New England about other teams about them being front-runners, if you can get them behind they would be a different football team. They fit that category this year very well. Once they got behind they had no idea what to do, made no adjustments, couldn’t make any plays, couldn’t pass the football, forgot about BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Everything went out the window. They had no idea what to do once they got behind.

Looking back at the Patriots’ playoff loss to the Jets, one of the surprising developments that was overshadowed by the loss was at outside linebacker, where Eric Moore – who had signed with the team Dec. 3 – started over Tully Banta-Cain and Jermaine Cunningham. In the most important game of the season, what does it say that the coaching staff felt the best fit was with a player who had joined the team just six weeks ago?
Mike Reiss
Cunningham was battling a nagging injury, so I really only think what this tells us is that Moore > Banta-Cain as run stopper. TBC could be on the outs in 2011.

Some additional plays that weren’t mentioned include:
Brandon Spikes interception in the 45-3 game that basically ensured it was going to be a domination.
Mesko’s punt in overtime against the Ravens.
Brandon Tate’s second half opening kickoff return for TD that erased the bad memories of second halves in 2009.
Woodhead’s TD run against the Colts.
4th down stop of Adrian Peterson.
Benjarvus Green-Ellis’ steamroll to the end zone against the Detroit.
Attention Steelers! Attention Steelers!
And I’m totally not trying to jinx the Jets by posting this. Totally.

Today in reasons for Patriots fans to be excited…
Think of how much better Tom Brady was in 2010 than 2009. Now think about how much better Wes Welker will be in 2011 than he was in 2010. No one seems to remember Welker could’ve missed most of 2010 if he was human, yet he managed 86 catches and 7 TDs. Expect Welker to have the quick burst back in 2011.
