First announced by Jim McBride, the Patriots informed the players this morning that Cam Newton would be the team’s starting QB.
When Cam signed this offseason, he was immediately labeled as the team’s starting QB, along with some speculation of course. But Newton put any doubts to rest with a strong camp, which also saw him voted as a team captain, just shy of two months after signing his contract.
And…. whilst we’re talking about captains, here are the 2020 Patriots captains.
Matthew Slater assumes his role once again as leader of the locker room, along with David Andrews, James White, and Devin McCourty who all continue their tenure as captains.
New members welcomed into the group are Cam Newton, Ja’Whaun Bentley, Jason McCourty, and Lawrence Guy.
No problems with any of the picks, some key leaders missing through the likes of Hightower and Chung, but time for some new players to step up.
