Cameron Fleming now in the mix for Pats’ O-line shakeup | Boston Herald
Reports this morning are that the line will be Solder-Connolly-Stork-Fleming-Vollmer with Cannon likely returning to the swing tackle, 6 OL/TE role that he’s been pretty good in the last couple seasons when not filling in for Vollmer.
Hard to look at last week’s tape and not think some kind of change had to happen. Fleming to RG is the biggest surprise of the moves, but clearly the Pats want size in the middle or they would’ve given Kline a try.
Hopefully things look better, especially in the run game tonight. That’s where they need Connolly to be leading the way. He should be the most mobile guy on the line, look for him to be pulling a fair share.
And while a lot of people are concerned about starting two rookies in a loud environment like Arrowhead, I don’t think it’s a big deal. They know it will be loud, have prepared for it and will likely go with a silent snap count to make it easy on everyone. The problem would be if they weren’t prepared for noise ala the Broncos in the Super Bowl.
If Stork has no blown snaps I’ll consider it a positive night. If he mauls a couple dudes and brings some attitude that has been missing, even better.
