Per Adam Schefter, the NFL is postponing the Patriots-Broncos game.
“This decision was made to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel and in consultation with medical experts.”

Not at all surprising, and it looks that this will be the team’s bye week, but the NFL needs to get a grip of reality right now, the Titans had another positive test today, and it’s only going to get worse if serious action isn’t taken.
Monday is just a couple days away, let’s take a look at the final injury report of the week that include the official game status projections.

Per Field Yates, the Patriots are placing RB Sony Michel on IR today. A tough break for Sony who had one of his better games as a Patriot against Las Vegas, he’ll be out with a quad injury for at least three weeks.
S/ST Cody Davis also unsurprisingly ends up on IR, he missed practice all week and now is given a few weeks to recover.
Now, here’s what we’ve been waiting for, RB Damien Harris is off IR and active for tonight, he’ll surely be lead back to begin proceedings and the first time we’ll get to see him in a meaningful role as a Patriot.
WR Gunner Olszewski has also been activated from IR and will be active tonight, along with fellow WR Isaiah Zuber, who gets another chance to show what he can do as the team’s official COVID-19 replacement.
What a crazy 24 hours it’s been, the news broke yesterday afternoon that starting QB Cam Newton had tested positive for COVID-19, today’s game was postponed and looks set to be played on Monday night (10/5).
According to reports, Newton was informed about his positive test late Friday night and went straight into self-quarantine. The team had players at the facility yesterday who were then sent home when optimism to play as scheduled on Sunday faded.
The Chiefs had their own problems with the virus as practice squad QB Jordan Ta’amu also had a positive test. As of right now, no other Patriots or Chiefs players/staff members have tested positive.
Hopefully Cam has a full and speedy recovery and that nobody else is impacted by this.
So with Newton set to miss at least the game against Kansas City, Jarrett Stidham or Brian Hoyer will lead the team in Week 4.
Ian Rapoport reports the Patriots intend to start Hoyer when the game takes place. This isn’t a huge surprise to me, Hoyer has the greater game experience and has been active as the official backup in every week so far this season.
In Friday’s injury report, only one player was confirmed out along with five as questionable for today’s game against Kansas City.

With an extra day of rest, I suspect all five questionable players to suit up on Monday or Tuesday without any issue. Cody Davis remains out and could be heading for a spot on IR.

Not a huge surprise, but tomorrow’s game has now been postponed until Monday or Tuesday next week. The key thing to keep an eye on is the results from today’s tests.
The Chiefs also have COVID issues of their own…
Wow, this is a big one, first reported by Field Yates and Adam Schefter, Cam Newton has tested positive for COVID-19 and is out of tomorrow’s game against Kansas City.
This is the first problem the Patriots have had with the virus so far this season, and it rules out their starting quarterback. Cam has been placed on the reserve/COVID list also according to Tom Pelissero.

No real surprises that Cody Davis misses out on Sunday’s clash with the Chiefs, he may end up on IR at some point, depending on the severity of his rib injury.
Butler, Edelman, Mason, Michel, and Wynn are all questionable for Sunday, will monitor their status over the weekend, but I wouldn’t expect any of them to miss out.
