I want to be crystal clear. I told Mr. Brady and his agents, I was willing not to take possession of the phone. I said, “I don’t want to see any private information.” I said, “Keep the phone. You and the agent, Mr. Yee, you can look at the phone. You give me documents that are responsive to this investigation and I will take your word that you have given me what’s responsive.”
This little tidbit from Ted Wells conference call with the media on May 12th has been under the radar the last 24 hours, but certainly seems pertinent now. Brady “destroying” his phone before meeting Wells was the only revelation to come out of the appeal, yet here’s Wells saying he didn’t even need the phone? Why didn’t we hear about Brady destroying his phone in the Wells Report?
Wells made it “crystal clear” he doesn’t require Brady phone, but now Brady is buried for destroying it?

Because Brady did not reveal he destroyed the phone with the evidence until the appeal , on June 23rd. that information was not available when the Wells report was published in Mid May.
