Well I think in today’s NFL you really want to have two hybrid safeties who can play both up front and on the back end. I do like what I’ve seen out of Harmon so far. I think he could really develop into a nice compliment to McCourty. As for Gregory I think he’s been better this season than he was last year. He’s definitely missed some tackles, but he’s been the primary strong safety, and played a lot of “robber” coverage where he comes down into the box trying to read the quaterback and make a play. I like his aggressiveness and smarts, but the missed tackles have been noticeable.
I think it’s a pretty good three-man group, how it plays out next year is hard to say, but I could see them staying with this group. Perhaps most interesting is how Tavon Wilson has fallen off the map. Not too many expressing the usual outrage that a second round pick has been reduced to solely a special teamer.
