Some guys to keep an eye on here. Fletcher Cox intrigues me (and many Pats observers) most because of his ability to provide some inside pass rush, a huge area of need as I see it.The question with him is can he anchor effectively.
I need to take a little deeper look at the other guys to see how diverse they could be in the Patriots scheme.
“I thought two guys who played really well down the stretch and helped their defense play better — it clearly played better — were Ninkovich and Brandon Spikes,” said Cosell, who serves as the producer for ESPN’s “NFL Matchup.” “I thought he played real well, particularly down the stretch,” Cosell said of Ninkovich, one of only two NFL defenders to finish the regular season with at least six sacks and two interceptions. “I think Ninkovich, he became a really versatile player. He’s not a dynamic, explosive playmaker, play after play. I don’t think he’s a guy who offenses say, ‘We better account for Rob Ninkovich.’ But I thought he played really well down the stretch.”
As for Spikes, Cosell has been an advocate of his for a long time, writing on Twitter that the Florida product is a dynamic presence against the run who is a unique player in this day and age. “I’m a huge Spikes fan, for what he is. I’m not going to ask him to run with Jimmy Graham, but for what he is, I think he’s really good,” Cosell said. “There aren’t many guys in the league like him who play downhill. He takes on blocks with violence. That’s a dying breed in the NFL. A passing league, a spread league, now, you have linebackers that run around blocks. He took on blocks this year, and he usually won.”
Great stuff from Greg Cosell via Chris Price on two players I really like.

Fan made Patriots uniform mock up.
Always love when this stuff comes along (thank @Advil), these are not, I REPEAT NOT, any kind of official designs from Nike, but the uniforms will be changing this year. I expect the Patriots will stick to a similar style to what they have now, the fit just will probably be a little closer to the college uniforms you see Nike doing now.
Love the original Pats logo on the helmets. We can’t be too far off from a throwback season with this logo. I’d also love to see a late 90’s throwback as well.
So many uniforms… I don’t know what to do with myself.

Will we make it through a single week without Gronk dominating something in some way?! I hope not. Zoobaz and a Gronk scooter. I love this man.
Of course we weren’t giving up without a full shot of this now infamous scooter Rob Gronkowski has been using this week in Florida. We first learned of this scooter after Sunday night’s party at the Jason Taylor benefit and it’s been an obsession ever since. The thought of the guy throwing broads over his shoulder and scootering back to a hotel room is intriguing. And now we get a full look at this beast ride. I was deep into this project when ESPN Insider published Sam Monson’s piece highlighting Brady’s diminished production while under pressure. Monson questioned Brady’s status as one of the top five QBs. Still, none of the people I spoke with thought Brady had slipped to a significant degree. Twenty-five of the 26 voters put him in […]
