FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Week 3 DVOA Ratings
Welcome to demento Patriots DVOA world, where all their rankings have just about flipped from recent years. Here’s what we’ve got so far:
Patriots DVOA WEEK 3
Overall: 11th
Offense: 23rd
Defense: 4th
Special Teams: 5th
Can’t go too in-depth on this one yet as I think it will be for my Friday B/R column, but I think if both are ready to go they’ll play. I think they need Gronk back more than Danny for obvious reasons.
Regardless, this is a great opportunity for the Patriots to get better. I don’t even really care if they lose this one because the experience will trump the result. The young players need the experience of playing in a loud dome in a national game. These are the kind of games that prepare teams for the playoffs. Add in the Falcons weapons and it’s clear this will be a bigger test than the first few games.
This is one of those games where we’ll learn a lot about the 2013 Pats and I’m excited for that.

You’re probably asking the wrong guy because I’d prefer to never see Bolden get another carry in his Patriots career. Not to knock the guy, he’s as good as they get on special teams and that is vitally important. He’s just not a playmaker. He knows the offense and might chip in with one or […]
