One player that was not yet on the Patriots the last time they faced the Jets, and has made a real impact in the teams four games since is Eric Moore.
With Jermaine Cunningham still fighting a calf injury it’s likely that Moore could see significant time in the base 3-4 defense, as a designated pass rusher, or even as a defensive end.
The fact is that Moore is one player that the Jets won’t know quite what to expect from, making him a definite presence that must be accounted for.
Since joining the Pats off the street Moore has registered two sacks and two forced fumbles. He’s been used in a variety of ways, mostly due to injuries, so as to what his true strength is we, along with the Jets, can only guess.
At 6’ 4" and 268 pounds Moore physically looks like an ideal outside linebacker for the Patriots system. With 14 tackles and 1 pass defensed to go with his sacks and forced fumbles he’s clearly been a force since he was signed on December 3rd.
Though he is fighting a hamstring injury that kept him out of a practice last week, we hope that he’ll be ready to go Sunday. BB can employ him in a number of different ways, giving him a versatile player to confuse the Jets with.
