Does Adrian Wilson Have Anything Left for Patriots?

Lots of bodies were cycling through the secondary on Friday night, as starting free safety Devin McCourty wasn’t in the lineup and the coaching staff wanted to get a good look at some different personnel combinations. As a result, it’s probably a little early to try and figure out who might be a starter based on what happened against the Eagles. But to this point in camp, it certainly appears Adrian Wilson has done everything that’s been asked of him, and has to be considered the favorite to land the job. The oversized safety has shown a nice ability to pick up the New England system, and his fellow defensive backs have spoke glowingly of how fast he’s become a part of the Patriots defense.

Well that covers everything on Adrian Wilson, no need to breakdown anything else about him….

Big practice for Adrian Wilson. He intercepted a pass on a trick play and dove to break up a Ryan Mallett pass on the goal line.

Brady was ecstatic (no hyperbole) with a route adjustment Amendola made that led to a quick completion.

Brady completed 10-of13 passes in 11-on-11s. Mallett was 4-of-9. Tebow was 4-of-7 in opportunity time.

I felt like I’ve had a pretty good career so far. Last year was last year. Obviously, things didn’t go my way, as far as the way I wanted them to go,” he said. “Obviously players slow down as they get older, but they also have experience and they’ve seen a lot of things as far as football. To say that a person is not good enough, that wouldn’t be the right verbiage to use, as far as that is concerned. I feel like I can help this team win. That’s pretty much what I’m here to do.

Adding him, the veteran leadership, the presence, the respect factor, he’s a guy that’s a terrific blitzer, and a physical presence,” said Harrison, now an NFL analyst for NBC. “I think he can come in especially during nickel and dime situations, and come down (close to the line) and play that second linebacker position like I did. He’s physical enough to help out in the run game, but he can also cover tight ends. So he can be that guy next to (Jerod) Mayo who can come in and really make a difference in that nickel and dime package. . . . It’s a fantastic move. I think he’ll help the Patriots immediately. I think he’ll hold people accountable.

I don’t really think BB is as much of a calculating genius as some might. His balanced approach leaves the door open to pounce when guys get released or are available via trade, especially if they’re willing to take a team-friendly deal to come to New England. Will something like this happen this year? Hard […]
