Well I’m obviously posting a link to this long piece about the history of the Stork. I know everyone is pulling for him to start tonight, and as much as I’d like it, I don’t think it’s a lock. But in time he should be the starter…

Stork alert!
On Stevan Ridley’s 16-yard run (5:57 remaining), Stork fired off the ball and created some push in the middle as the defender he was blocking winds up on the ground. His two shotgun snaps were solid. Those were valuable reps for Stork, who looks like he’s ready to compete for more playing time.

[R]ookie Bryan Stork (fourth round, Florida State) walked off with a member of the athletic training staff midway through the practice after the team had been working on a run-game drill. Stork did not participate in the rest of practice, leaving the majority of reps to incumbent Ryan Wendell. His status now becomes an important storyline to monitor as it relates to one of the top competitions on the roster.
Ugh, Stork fanboy #1 (aka me) is not happy with this development.

Nice tidbit in here that Stork got some work at left guard as well as center. I know that he had quite a few penalty laps for bad snaps, but I’m excited to see how Stork develops this preseason. Between him and Easley, they are two draft picks who bring exactly what I think the Pats need. Just a question of how fast they can develop.
