He’ll be back. And let’s remember we should’ve beaten them when we didn’t have TFB so let’s see what you got Colts. David Thomas’ penalty because he couldn’t hear the whistle ruined a makeable kick that would’ve sent it to overtime. Somehow I don’t imagine this year will be that close.

I never like to generalize fans of any team. For every team in every sport (including my beloved Pats) there are delusional aholes, and there are rational fans who just enjoy rooting for their team.
With that said I’m getting the “Uncle Rico” vibe from *some* Raiders fans this week. As if the Tuck Rule is the only thing that held them back from being the dynasty the Patriots were.
“If only that fumble call had been upheld, we’d have beaten the Steelers, and then the Rams, and the Bucs the next year, and the Panthers in ‘03 and the Eagles in ’04…no doubt… not a doubt in my mind. Things woulda been different. We’d have won four straight Super Bowls. We’d all be making millions of dollars, living in big ole’ mansions somewhere with our soul mates…”

I love this Tom Brady video. That is all.

I don’t know who has the best pass defense in the league, but it’s not much better than the worst. All of them are getting torched. I did a game in St. Louis last week, Torrey Smith, a rookie, scored three touchdowns in the first quarter. The lockout and the lack of being on the field has hurt secondaries and pass-defense schemes more than any other area of our game, and quarterbacks are exploiting it. Safeties are not ready. They are breaking down, the communication is not there and the cohesiveness is not there. With the lockout, no OTAs and a short time in minicamp, secondaries are floundering, not matching up to routes, not playing zone well, not playing man well, they can’t sync up with blitzes. It’s the worst I’ve seen.

Patriots fans sweat it out as they await the ruling on the Tom Brady tuck rule fumble. Amazing video, it takes you back like you’re really there.

Bruschi’s Breakdown: Patriots vs. Raiders
You won’t find a better game preview anywhere. One really interesting nugget from Mike Reiss:
I’m wondering if we might see the old 3-4 alignment back again, especially after reports surfaced that the Patriots are bringing back veteran defensive lineman Gerard Warren. I could envision a three-man front with Shaun Ellis, Vince Wilfork and Gerard Warren. Then you have Jerod Mayo and Brandon Spikes at inside linebacker, with Jermaine Cunningham and Rob Ninkovich at outside linebacker. Let’s see if they go that route to combat this running game.
In Appreciation of the Big Fella: Vince Wilfork’s Return to Health and Form Has Been Huge – Touching All the Bases – Boston.com Certainly not enough credits has gone to Wilfork for the job he did returning from his first major injury and after re-structuring his contract.
