Honestly when watching #Pitt Jabaal Sheard, think he’s a better fit as a 34 OLB than Justin Houston, Aldon Smith and Ryan Kerrigan

NFP/Bowen: Breaking down Brady to Branch vs. Bears
At a time when we could be hours from a lock out, Japan in under water, and the West Coast is waiting the fifty year storm from Point Break to hit, here’s a great breakdown of Brady and Branch catching the Bears sleeping just before the half.
PATSPROPAGANDA DRAFT PREDICTIONS SELF ANALYSIS
OUR PATRIOTS-ONLY MOCK DRAFT POSTED 4/14/2011
While mock drafts are fun, if you’re a fan obsessed with only one team like me, you really only get one player per mock (or two in the Patriots’ case) to look at. You know the drill, you see a new mock pop up, you go to it and instantly look who they have your team picking, then scan the rest of it with half-interest.
So what you’ll find below is my Patriots big board, which in reality is what most teams go into the draft with. This lists only prospects that I see as a fit for the Pats in ranked order. While team needs are certainly taken into account, ultimately it comes down to who fits the system and how much of an impact they would have for one team, the New England Patriots.
If there’s someone you personally like but don’t see on here make a case for them in the comments below. These rankings will change and grow.

NFP/Bunting: Akeem Ayers a gem for Patriots?
Between Ayers and Cameron Heyward there are no other two guys who have more varied scouting reports out there. On many it looks like Ayers is the perfect Patriots fit, but in the limited film I’ve seen he doesn’t look fast or physical.
You’ll see what I think of him tomorrow when the Patriots big board gets released, but there aren’t many guys out there who are more polarizing.
So by now everyone has probably heard the news that some lawyer is alleging that Brandon Meriweather shot two people last week in Florida. Here’s how Deadspin described it:
The trouble started at the Blue Jeans Lounge in Apokpa when a friend of Meriweather’s allegedly beat up a woman, according to Morgan. The woman’s brother arrived later with his own friend, and the conflagration shifted to a nearby party, where the brother soon got the better of Meriweather’s friend in a fight. That’s when Meriweather allegedly pulled out his gun and fired at the brother, grazing the man’s face and hitting the other victim in the head, according to Morgan.
The man who raised Meriweather (yes, that’s how he was described) told the Boston Herald that it wasn’t true. There haven’t be charges filed either so right now it seems very much murky as to what happened.
It certainly doesn’t help that Meriweather had an incident where he shot at someone while in college:
Miami Hurricanes reserve safety Willie Cooper was shot in the buttocks when confronted in his yard Friday morning by an unknown person who fled after another player returned gunfire.
Police said Cooper was able to walk after being shot and the injury wasn’t believed to be serious, but he was taken to a hospital for treatment.
After Cooper was shot, teammate and roommate Brandon Meriweather pulled a pistol from his pants pocket and fired three times at the person, who jumped a fence and fled with another person in a car, police said. It was unclear if the assailant was hit.
So clearly at one point in his life Meriweather was carrying a gun with him, although legally. We’d hope that he’s now a professional athlete those days are behind him, but this story definitely won’t help him in the court of public opinion until the facts come to light.
Of course going for the kill shot then only grazing someone certainly does sound like Brandon as well…
Stay tuned…

Bruschi/Reiss Offseason Podcast
If you’ve been your Patriots cave of shame every since the playoff loss this great podcast with Tedy Bruschi and Mike Reiss will get you caught up to speed.
Andre Carter has been arguably the Patriots best player on defense over the course of the first six games of the season but his arrival in New England was somewhat of a perfect storm. Bill Belichick decided during the off-season that it would be easier to install their four man nickel front as the base […]
