If they were gonna put him on the cover of Madden 12 could they at least make it long haired Brady and not throwback short cropped Brady? This is so 2004.

Frenz: Should Pats Pursue Jason Taylor?
Like most Pats fans out there I’m kind of over the Jason Taylor of it all. Anyone who has played for both the Dolphins and Jets is basically devoid of any Pats potential I ever saw in him. And ultimately you’re really only delaying the inevitable with Taylor. Sure, he might bring a good veteran presence to the defense, something I think they definitely need, but is he going to be an answer to any of the on-field issues? I have my doubts.
Interestingly, the Patriots hardly used any 6OL sets last year, after using the formation more than 50 times the year before. I guess once they had Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, and Alge Crumpler, there was no reason to bring out a sixth lineman. They did use Dan Connolly as a fullback at the goal line, but we did not count that as a 6OL set.

Boston Herald: Tracking the Patriots offseasons
Wow, this is an epic list of a good number of Patriots and what they’ve been up to this lockout offseason. I know I’m biased but when you really think about what kind of team is going to be successful this season (whether training camp starts on time, or the talks fall apart and we miss a few games) are teams that have their coaches, players and systems in place (Pats), don’t have extensive issues to address in free agency (Pats), and won’t be forced to rely on rookies (Pats).
I know I can be a Pat-eyed optimist sometimes but I’m really feeling confident that the 2011 Patriots will make some noise in the playoffs. And yes, that’s where we’re at now to be considered a successful season. AFC Championship Game or bust…
“He’s done things there in his short career with the Patriots that I wasn’t able to do until my eighth or ninth year or something like that. That’s how far along he is. That’s how good he is,” Bruschi said of the 6-foot-1, 245-pound Mayo. “I never had the ability that he has — how fast he is, how big he is and strong. The sky is the limit for him. I truly see him being the best linebacker in the game within two years. I think that’s how good he is.
“No matter what defensive scheme they run,” he added. “They’ll run some 3-4. They’ll run some 4-3 looks. And he can do it on a down-to-down basis. It’s very difficult to do, especially in that system — I know. The sky is the limit for him.”

Bill Belichick’s “Bend-Don’t-Break” Defense in One Simple Chart (2001-2015) Much has been made over the years of Bill Belichick’s “Bend-Don’t-Break” philosophy on defense. Now it is an easy excuse when the defense gives up a ton of yards but still win the game because Tom Brady scored more points. But as we can see this has always […]
