Real football stuff from Frenz. Some players who really need big years to earn another contract from the Pats. Wendell, Solder and McCourty seem the guys most deserving of extensions sometime this season. We’ll see on the rest.

Ninkovich is an interesting one. He’s already gotten THREE contracts from the Patriots and earning a fourth would be pretty impressive. Should be a lot of competition at defensive end, but if Nink holds on to his starting spot he could be in line for another deal from the Pats brass.

Everybody else is probably going to have to play out the season.

The New England Patriots are extremely disappointed to learn of Alfonzo Dennard’s arrest. We take this matter very seriously and are working to get more information on the incident.

I went full double face palm after waking up to this news this morning. I am really torn on how the Pats will react, but Dennard having to be in court in August, in the middle of training camp, is not good for anyone. And who knows what could happen since he’s already on probation. Could he end up having to serve his 30-day (or more now) jail sentence immediately instead of getting to wait until March?

There’s no question he’s serving that time at least now, whereas if he had stayed clean he might’ve gotten out of it.

Hopefully this is just the final cherry on top of a horrible offseason for the Patriots.

This is why back-to-back division games on a short week to start the season is a little disconcerting for me. If the Pats go 2-0 in the division before the season is a week old, the rest of AFC East can pretty much pack it in.
