The NFL wrapped up their Top 100 players of 2017 and sitting at the top was Tom Brady. After the Super Bowl it’s kind of a no-brainer, but Patriots fans think Brady being number one should be a no-brainer every season.
This was the first time since 2011 that Brady topped the list (he’s the only player to do it twice), but really we all know who the best player in the NFL over that six-year span has been without these kind of ranking shows.
Back at the No. 1️⃣ spot.

The bulk of the highlights package is dedicated to Super Bowl 51, as they should be. I never would’ve thought Brady would put together a career-defining Super Bowl after already winning four of them, but his comeback against the Falcons seemingly strangled out just about every last argument that he’s not the best of all time.
I’ve watched the 28-3 comeback dozens of times by this point, and I’m still just in awe of how fearless his performance was when every throw was absolutely critical. With their backs against the wall, Brady did what has been the hallmark of his career, finding his favorite receiver (the open one).
It has all left me wondering, what can Brady possibly do for an encore? The team is stacked. The rest of the NFL seems mostly mired in mediocrity, with the pundits trying to convince themselves which team could truly give this Patriots team a go.
The “Perfect Season” is still out there and the Pats still own the trademark to it. There’s little else left for Brady to accomplish and they look primed to give it a hell of a shot in 2017.
