With competition and intensity ramping up, the Pats had their second straight padded practice of the week, here are Tuesday’s Tweets of Note.
CB Stephon Gilmore returned today alongside rookie UDFA, TE Jake Burt. It’s great to have Gilmore back, rumors were swirling that his absence was something to do with his contract situation. Personally I don’t think that was the case, either way, he’s now back with the secondary, who has been one of the top-performing positional groups so far in camp.
WR’s Julian Edelman and Devin Ross were the new absentees from practice, Edelman potentially having a day off to manage workload, something not uncommon with veteran players.
RB’s Sony Michel and Lamar Miller remain on the PUP/active list.
Whatever Jules was absent for, he still had time to post this masterpiece.
Love a camp rivalry, one is certainly developing here, even some pushing and shoving after Harry finished his blocking drill against newly acquired CB Michael Jackson.
Another strong practice for Harry who’s stood out in the receiving group so far this week. A developing concern was forming last week over his absences now in the rearview mirror, more exciting progress for the former first-round pick.
Another reminder of what type of season we’re in for this year, Belichick ever the planner, getting the fake noise pumped in during today’s session.
Back to the kickers, Folk in only his second practice of the year is already staking a claim for the kicker spot on the roster. Rohrwasser, on the other hand, continues to struggle.
It’s hard to predict what Belichick might do about this, either way, he has two kickers right now in a competition, the roster is at it’s maximum of 80 players, I’d expect there not to be any cuts at the position for another week or so.
Don’t hold me to that.
To finish up, here are some of the rep counts for the QB’s today. Whilst Stidham gets more involved, it’s clear that he’s not 100%, he should at least be on par with Hoyer rep wise if he’s good to go.
Cam for the third-straight practice led the position in reps, creating further distance in the starting race. More swag, more development, good stuff.
